Inspire- Parental Involvement
At Oldfield we have termly Inspire Mornings with parents/carers from Y1-Y6. The purpose of these is to engage parents/carers and involve them in their child’s learning. These are also a way of communicating with parents how their child is supported at school and the resources we use. This is an excellent way to engage parent participation and communication with the school.
At the start of the year the focus of the Inspire Morning is for parents/carers to meet the class teacher, and to become familiar with routines, the year group curriculum and expectations.
In the Nursery and Reception classes parents are invited each term to a ‘Stay and Play’ session. This is an opportunity to communicate with parents/carers how the children learn through purposeful play activities and for quality time to be spent together sharing learning. Parents/carers have the chance to look through their child’s Learning Journey.
