We're looking forward to the year ahead with lots of fantastic learning. In Year 2, we will be learning all about our local area, exploring what is so amazing about space and investigating how we are different from animals. Please see the termly curriculum maps for more information about learning in Year 2.
Ms Inson (Y2O Monday - Wednesday)
I have taught in several London schools and have experience of teaching children from Reception to Year 6. I studied Politics at university then a PGCE. I have also taught English to children and adults in Japan and have worked in London with children with English as an additional language. I currently lead Science at Oldfield. I live locally so I know the area and community well; I enjoy exploring the great outdoors and visiting London with my own children and the children at Oldfield.
Mrs Pavlova (Y2O Thursday and Friday)
Before I decided to become a teacher, I was a stay-at-home mother for 7 years with my family in South Africa. I thought that being a Mum is the greatest job ever. After these amazing 7 years in South Africa, we finally decided to go back to my home country, Bulgaria. There, I had the opportunity to work in a school in my hometown Kardzhali. That was the moment I realised that I wanted to become a teacher. The school believed that I would make a good teacher; the Head Teacher encouraged me and all my colleagues supported me when I started my teaching career. I graduated as a full-time student while I was working as a teaching assistant. In 2011, my family moved to the UK. Teaching in my home country is very different to teaching here, in the UK. Until 2017, I was working as a nanny, a play worker and a teaching assistant. All these jobs gave me the opportunity to gain experience related to teaching. As well as teaching at Oldfield two days per week, I also visit and teach in different schools because I believe this is the best way to develop good practice, learning from others.
